Dr. Hyun Lee is a director of Biophysics Core and a Research Assistant Professor at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at UIC Retzky College of Pharmacy.
Dr. Lee has a broad background with compound synthesis, protein-ligand interaction by surface plasmon resonance (SPR) and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), protein structure determination by NMR and X-ray crystallography, and enzyme assay development that can benefit drug discovery. She has been focusing on antimicrobial drug development against four flaviviruses (Hepatitis C virus, Zika, Dengue and West Nile viruses) and three coronaviruses (SARS-CoV-1, SARS-CoV-2 and MERS-CoV) using various biochemical and biophysical techniques.
